This is a print only competition consisting of two categories, open colour and open monochrome. Up to four images can be entered into each category. Digital copies are required of each print submitted. Entry closes on 5th June 2025. Prints must arrive by 11th June 2025. All accepted works will be displayed in Edinburgh between 2nd August and 24th August 2025. The exhibition is open to all and we invite you to come and admire the best our global photographers have to offer, and we hope they will inspire and captivate you.
Edinburgh Photographic Society is pleased to announce that the 161st Edinburgh International Photography Exhibition will open for entry on March 3rd 2025. This prestigious print only exhibition, first run in 1861, has celebrated the evolving photographic processes of the early pioneers through to the digital capture used today. Today we have only two categories Colour prints and Mono prints. You may enter up to 4 prints in each section, subject matter is open.
Entry is open to all photographers, world-wide. All images must start as captures by light and be entirely the work of the photographer. We only accept what we can display. An acceptance at Edinburgh is sought after and difficult. All accepted works will be exhibited and open to the public during the Edinburgh festivals in August 2025. The Edinburgh International Exhibition receives thousands of visitors each year.
Please post your entries promptly. Postal services and customs delays are often a problem. Your prints must be received by 11th June 2025 at the latest.
All entrants are invited to attend the Private Viewing and Awards Presentation on Friday 2nd August evening from 6:00pm – Awards will be presented at 7:00pm. Refreshments will be provided.
All entrants may visit the open exhibition at regular times, below, for no further payment and may collect a printed copy of the exhibition catalogue. For those who have paid for postage, catalogues will be dispatched over the next few weeks or with return prints.
This year’s international exhibition will be displayed in Edinburgh Photographic Society’s premises at 68 Great King Street, Edinburgh Scotland, UK, EH3 6QU. The exhibition will be open to view from 3rd August until 25th August 2024 between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm each day.
